I purchased this on the play store years ago, i still have the purchase history on the app store, after updating on fdroid I’m being asked for a valid license key and all my files are inaccessible.

I looked this over, unfortunately all my files are still locked behind the error screen telling me to purchase a license, will it acknowledge my license if i update through the play store? As it stands i am entirely locked out from unencrypting my files and i really need access to them.
If you want instant access, uninstall the app and reinstall it from Google Play but you need to add again your vaults.
You could also switch to the license key variant, if you want this, please send me a direct message.
Hi I’m not certain if this is the direct message button, but my concern is if i uninstall and reinstall though the play store, that my files that are already encrypted in a vault will remain encrypted. If i switch to the license key variant will that let me unlock my vaults? I also want to avoid paying for this app a second time…
mhm, seems not 
yes they will (thank god). What you store in a vault will be encrypted. does not matter if you unsinstall the app or not. Theres no automated decryption of a complete vault.
yes. You can open the same vault with any of the available cryptomator apps (desktop, mobile, 3rd party). Just add your existing (encrypted) vault again to the app and open it with your password.

Edit: Found my original vaults and was able to add and decrypt with my old pw thank you!
I couldn’t find the green envelope to dm him but i tried simply uninstalling the all app then reinstallong through Play and it seems my vaults all got deleted when the app was uninstalled… Im going through every location on my device and can’t find them anywhere now
