No spotlight indexation on Catalina?! Help needed please!

Hello,

im using cryptomator 1.4.17 and Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4. How can I make spotlight find the files in the fuse drive/ vault?

Spotlight indexing permission requested by System Preferences on Mac

To this point Spotlight is not officially supported. Using custom mount flags, some users managed to get it partially working, but this is nothing we can offer support for yet. I can not answer any of your questions. The notification came from the operating system which decided to ask you when it noticed there was a new drive. I have no idea what triggered this. Agreed that this is a big issue. I assume Cryptomator is aware of it, but I’ll add my voice that the current setup is non-intuitive, and counter-productive.

If there’s any way Cryptomator can adjust the FUSE settings so that mounted (unencrypted) Vaults get indexed by Spotlight, I hope they can do this in an update. And tell us it’s coming if it is.

Until then, a workaround is to use something like EasyFind and tell it to specifically search in the mounted Vault. Which is a pain but works.
