I’ve been searching for hours for answer, but I can’t resolve my problem.
I have 3tb dropbox account and I want to use cryptomator to send files directly to dropbox, however cryptomator uses my local hard drive space instead of dropbox.
I know dropbox sync but I’d like the files that I encrypt to reflect in dropbox not in my hard drive.
I tried some youtube toturials and choose dropbox in cryptomator.
Hi.
Cryptomator desktop does not connect directly to any cloud storage. It relies on the cloud storage providers sync app to do the sync. And thus all encrypted files are created local. If you do not want to have the encrypted files local you have the following options:
Configure your dropbox client to only stream needed files and clear not needed files from the local machine (aka files-on-demand)
use 3rd party tools to access your vault directly online. for examle cyberduck
use 3rd party tools that connect to your online storage and mounts them as local drive in your file explorer. For example rclone (I do not use it so I cannot make a recommendation)
