Content Unavailable error on iOS

Hi!

I have issue with files app not displaying one particular folder. Please see the attached screenshot. This had never happened to me previously. I know for a fact that this folder is accessible via my laptop file system, error only appears on iOS.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Same issue here! Any ideas?
Regards
Peter

Copying the folder and changing the name of the new one doesnt work either. Error still shows.

Have you tried to delete the storage connection an set it up again?

I’m experiencing the same issue. I have a vault stored in iCloud. I have 3 devices using this vault and it only impacts one.

Working Devices
iPhone SE 2020 running iOS 17.1.1
MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) Running macOS Sonoma 4.1

Not working
iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.1.1

I have tried removing and re-adding but cannot get this vault to work on my new iPhone 15 Pro Max. I can remove and re-add the vault fine on my other devices. Looking at one of the I can see the below written multiple times

2023/11/21 21:04:49:261 enumerateItems failed with: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=256 "The file “3X3NF7AJ5NID2EZ4MSJK7M2YCZR737” couldn’t be opened." UserInfo={NSURL=file:///var/mobile/Library/Mobile%20Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/secure-cloud/d/FC/3X3NF7AJ5NID2EZ4MSJK7M2YCZR737, NSFilePath=/var/mobile/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/secure-cloud/d/FC/3X3NF7AJ5NID2EZ4MSJK7M2YCZR737, NSUnderlyingError=0x10390a190 {Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=11 "Resource deadlock avoided"}} for identifier: NSFileProviderItemIdentifier(_rawValue: NSFileProviderRootContainerItemIdentifier)

and in another multiple entries of

Error: domainNotFound

I will post the full logs once I have had a chance to review to make sure there is nothing in them I don’t want publicly displayed

I’m having the same issue. With a particular set of folders too. My vault is fairly large, in the 250gb range - and it works perfectly on PC but I keep running into this error on iPad. It also is very consistent. I.E it affects the same folders once it starts. Health check fails to fix issue.

I have found a workaround to make it work and am posting a log here to help the team achieve a long term resolution. Inside of the logs I could find the folder it was trying and failing to access. I then navigated to the encrypted folder manually and forced iCloud to download all files inside. Once done - it could open it perfectly in Cryptomator.

Why it failed to call the file download on its own - and why it only happens with certain folders is a mystery. I hope this log helps. It says something about avoiding a resource deadlock. Anyway thought it was interesting. I’ve also obfuscated part of the unencrypted path name for privacy, but the log should still be sufficient enough to identify error. This has been an ongoing problem for some time so I’m happy to learn I have a workaround - dispite it being a pain to do.

Same here. Create vault on an S3 bucket. Sometimes from iOS sometimes from iPadOS. Frequently get the “content unavailable” error from iOS is created on iPadOS and visa versa. Almost guaranteed to happen if I create it on MacOS Sonoma.

I actually created a new folder which was empty but accessible, and as soon as I copied the files from the folder in question, the content became unavailable. This is really bizarre.

Files I’m trying to access are photos. Dont know if that matter at all?

Going to need to look for some alternatives to Cryptomator. This behaviour is just bad and unpredictable.

Has anyone had any joy fixing this? Does it help if you’ve paid for the iOS app?
I’m wondering if recent iOS updates have caused a problem. I have an iPhone 14 running v17.1.2

I had the same error issue and discovered that my iCloud’s Files app didn’t have the folder downloaded.

Go into iCloud Drive where the sync folder is stored, long-pressed it, and selected Download Now.

Once the folder and its contents downloaded to the iPhone, I went back into Cryptomator and the drive contents were there.

Hope this helps.

I had the same issue. With this workaround it worked for me. Thx Milty.
