What is Mapped Drive Network Password

When I try to access the mapped drives with iDrive, it asks me to authenticate.

For example, it I have the following network path: \cryptomator-vault\E2H797MuTHKT\Max-iCloud-Cryptomator

Which is a Cryptomator vault I have stored on iCloud…

What’s the username/password to that UNC path?

Hi.
Not sure whats going on here, but there is no username for vaults and you cannot access them via username and password from other apps. You have to unlock your vaults and then other apps can access the virtual drive of your opened vault.

I understand that. However, my backup software does not. At least the most recent version of iDrive.

It’s seeing it as a mapped drive and requesting authentication. Their instructions say that if you don’t need to authenticate, you can just use the Windows user/pass. But that isn’t working.

I was wondering if there is a built-in generated user/pass generated by Cryptomator when it connects the mapped drives to Windows itself.

I’d try putting the vaults as directories, but several different backup solutions I’ve attempted don’t see the contents of those directories. It does work as a mapped drive with iDrive. But with latest version I can’t add or remove vaults. Or for that matter any other mapped/external drive. Since it’s insisting on my inputting authentication details. Thankfully all of my everyday stuff was selected before the software update, so they are continuing to back up. So it is able to access, but the iDrive system thinks it needs credentials in the “select which files to backup” prompt.

I’ve reached out to iDrive as well to see if they can take away or allow the user to bypass inputting credentials.

I’m afraid there isn’t.
