I’ve been experiencing Cryptomatior for a few days and I am almost happy ! …
In effect, I am a little bit desapointed by the question of passwords .
I am woking with Windows 11 , and Crytomator has been configured with the option “passwords stored with : Windows Hello”.
Furthermore, the option “Remember password” has been clicked.
Now, when Windows starts, everything is OK : Crytomator can be unlocked using the fingerprint sensor of Windows Hello.
However, when, later, the app is locked , the next unlocking is possible WITHOUT any identification verification. Of course it is quick and convenient , but is it really serious in terms of safety ?
Now, if the option " remember password" is unclicked, this time an identification verification is required each time the App is unlocked, but the only way to do that is using the password defined at the creation of the vault. In the end, it is really tedious …( since the wordpass has been intentionnally defined “complicated” ) .
I have not be able to find how to use Windows Hello each time the app is unlocked, withing the same Windows session .
( In other word, I would be fully happy if I could work the same way with Crytomator as I do on the other hand with OneDrive Vault ) .
