Using Cryptomator with Google Drive (Instruction for Using External Drive to lnstall Vault)

I created a Cryptomator vault on my external drive. How do I put my folders/files in the vault, password protect them, and then have them uploaded to google drive.

By opening/unlocking your vault, and then copy/move the files to the virtual drive that appears after unlock

Configure your GoogleDrive to include the vault folder (containing the encrypted files and folders) with your online storage.

I’ll give it a try, thanks so much Michael.

One more question Michael. I notice that the folder disappears when it is locked thru Cryptomator. Does google drive know that it is there although it is hidden?

You are mixing the virtual drive with the folder where your encrypted vault files are stored.

Please do not include the virtual drive in the google sync. Consider this drive as door to your vault. Therefore the door closes (vanishes) whenever you lock your vault and is only visible as long as your vault is unlocked

The encrypted vault files (the path to your vault you see right below the vault name on the left side in the app) stays on your system no matter if the vault is locked or not. And this is what you want to sync with your online storage.
