Unable to use Google Drive app on MacOS Monterey

I saw this note when I try to download google Drive app on my MacBook Pro Monterey 12.7.6.

Mac:

  • MacOS Monterey 12.1 and up

  • Note: In June 2026, Dfd will require macOS Ventura 13.0 or higher

==================

  1. So starting in June, I can’t install Google Drive App on my laptop anymore?
  2. How do I use Cryptomator on my laptop with my google drive starting next month?

Thanks

I am not a Mac Pro, but I assume that there might be 3rd party apps still available for Monterey, which can mount your google drive to your finder.

Like rclone, ExpanDrive, Mountain Duck (haven’t checked if they still do support Monterey).

I guess updating MacOS is not an option?

And due to to internet search, just because you cannot install the gdrive client anymore does not necessarily mean an already installed version will stop working. (Again, I’m not a MacBook user)

it’s not that I can’t update MacOS. Apple discontinued supporting my version of laptop so I can’t update anymore. My laptop works fine so there’s no point of buying a new laptop.

I never used these apps rclone, ExpanDrive, Mountain Duck before. Is there one you recommend?

So one of these app will replace Google Drive? I just install it and connect Cryptomator to it? I already have Cryptomator installed for my Microsoft OneDrive.

Thanks

As I said I am not an MacBook User, and I do not use any of these apps. But there are users in this board using rclone. Maybe someone will respond to this and give a recommendation.
