I am suddenly unable to copy files from Windows Explorer to an unlocked Cryptomator vault. The message suggests that this is due to a missing permission. However, after unlocking the vault, I must have permission. Am I misunderstanding something?
At first, I thought this was due to the outdated version 1.17.0. However, the problem persists even after updating to 1.17.1.
I would appreciate any help.
Just because you unlocked the vault doesn’t mean you have permission to write into it.
Please check and confirm, that your Windows user has write access to the folder where your vault files (the encrypted ones) are located.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried to grant full authorisation to the folder in which the vault is located. So in locked state in my user data drive.
By right clicking and selecting Share / Security I can see that everyone has full access.
Even if I have unlocked the vault, everyone has full access.
After unlocking the vault, I can see the vault as a network address. I was able to set full access for myself with the extended option. Unfortunately, I still can’t copy a file to the vault. I get the error message “You need permissions…”
I did not encounter this situation before.
Mhm. Ok.
Which volume type are you using?
Do you open the app with the same user your are logged in at windows, or are you using a different user?
