Starting with Cryptomator

Hi there,

I just started using Cryptomator and have (at least) 2 questions:

  1. How does Cryptomator handle files which are already located in One Drive - and only there. What I mean is: OneDrive displays files that are located in the Cloud but not on your local Drive as so called virtual files. What happens when I move those files to a vault? Are they encrypted then? And does Ceyptomator supports such virtual files or will all files that are moved to the Cryptomator Vault be downloaded and stored locally?

  2. I also bought the Android Version and I have 2 Problems. First, I cant Copy files wirhin the vault. I can only move them. Ist there an Option to Copy them? Second, I find No Option to Access files which are Stored in the vault by other Apps. For example I cant attach a File to an Email. Because I cannot Access the vault Out of other Apps.

I would appreciate any Help!

  1. Moving OneDrive virtual files to a vault may download them first.
  2. Copying files within the vault on Android isn’t supported, only moving.
  3. To access vault files in other apps, use the Cryptomator Document Provider or export manually.
