In Windows 10, if I create shortcuts to files in the Cryptomator vault, the shortcuts cease to work if the vault is locked and then unlocked again. This means I have to recreate the shortcuts every time I unlock the vault. Is it possible to create shortcuts that continue working even when the vault is locked and then unlocked again? I’m using WinFsp (Local Drive).
I wanted to test this as it could be useful for me. I created 2 shortcuts and both worked fine. I could lock and unlock the vault multiple times, the shortcuts still worked.
Win11 25H2, Shortcuts created using; mouse right click->New->Shortcut
Cryptomator 1.18.0, mounted default (WinFSP) to a drive letter D:
I also forgot to mention that I have the drive mounted to the same letter each time, so the issue cannot be explained by a change in the letter used for the drive name.
Another detail that might be relevant is that the shortcuts are to vault files that are stored in a Dropbox folder.
In the shortcut properties, what does your “Target” and “Start In” path look like, before and after? Observe what happens here in these properties.
This is hard to diagnose from the information you are providing and it may not even be Cryptomator issue (it works fine for me as I tested above).
