I need to exchange confidential documents with my attorney. Can I just email him an encrypted document and then share my key?
Or do I have to put it on OneDrive or Dropbox and then send him the key?

Hi. You cannot share a single file. But you can share a complete vault.
This can be done by granting access to the online storage where your vault is stored. Means at least to the vault folder. Your attorney then can sync this online vault to his local system, install Cryptomator and add the vault to it. Just the same process like you would add an existing vault (stored online) to your Cryptomator app.
He does need the password to open the vault, and he will have access to all files in the vault.
