I just purchased the app from the playstore, I found the icon and opened it, and I haven’t understood 2 words since! All I want to do is setup a vault on my sd card and be able to use it, did I make a mistake purchasing this? or can someone please get me started?!?!?!

Please explain exactly in which step of the setup you have problems.
I have opened the app and created a vault on my sd card, I moved all the files I wanted stored into the vault file I created on the sd card, but they are all still visible on my Google files and gallery, also, on the Cryptomator app, where it says to choose a vault for upload, when I click on it, it says unable to upload because you haven’t created a vault yet, but when I click on create a vault, the first thing on the page that opens up is the vault name I created, as well as the name of the folder I moved all my files to, really confused, not very computer literate. Help!!!
That’s because you moved the files to the folder where Cryptomator creates the encrypted vault file. That’s not how Cryptomator for android works.
You’ll have to share the file to Cryptomator if you want to add it to the vault.
You can not work within the files app on your android
