Hi.

Cryptomator desktop does not connect and thus sync with anything. It creates local files. The sync is done via the providers sync app, like onedrive or Google backup and sync. So these tools have to provide files on demand because they do the sync.
Onedrive and gdrive and other already support this.

For me personally it doesn’t work properly with OneDrive on the Mac. I haven’t tried on other SystemOS.

As soon as I try to open a file inside the Cryptomator drive whose encrypted background file is not synced and fully downloaded, Cryptomator DDoS’es my whole system. The only chance to recover is trying to get to activity monitor or terminal and kill Cryptomator.
