Question about file size - compressed after encryption?

Hello, does the file size of a folder change? Is it compressed after encryption?

Example:

  • Folder ABC Original: 59GB
  • Folder ABC Cryptomator: 57,5GB

Is that possible, or did something go wrong with the copying?

Thanks - 1.4.15 - Windows 10

Yes, it gets bigger due to encoding and additional headers for the files .

No.

Probably. Does your log file contain any WARNings or ERRORs ?

Is your vault stored on a mounted network drive? Windows makes files disappear from directory listings if the file name gets too long.

Nope, it is a external USB 3.0 HDD

To move 200 crypted GB takes some ti me here
