Offline vault, android phone, 0nedrive, EMPTY FOLDERS

this may not be a total cryptomator problem, but it affects cryptomator

ANDROID phone, CRYPTOMATOR vault in ONeDrive.
PROBLEM, need to use this in OFFLINE mode. I TRIED setting OneDrive to OFFLINE FILES, but cryptomator does not SEE oneDrive Offiline files, and as i read through the forum, i see that you have to COPY the files to a local android filder.

OK, did that
Onedrive, CRYPTOMATOR vault FULL FOLDER, copy to ANDROID-MiscMyFiles-CRYPTOATOR folder.
then went to cryptomator, ADDED location, pointed to the LOCAL FOLDER on android phone.

I then went to OPEN the cryptomator vault, entered password, it UNLOKED it, but gave message of “EMPTY FILES” (or something like that)

I again did the COPY function, overwrote current local file, etc, etc.
same sceanariio, EMPTY FILES

I THEN hooked up my desktop PC to the android phone, USB cable, and did the copy function, from the ONEDRIVE same folder, to the local android cryptomator folder.

THAT time, it opened, and SHOWED THE CONTENTS !!

ISSUE-PROBLEM seems to be, in Android, when COPYING in the android, from a onedrive CRYPTOMATOR folder, to a local android CRYPTOMATOR folder, it is NOT COPYING all the contents, even though no error message comes up. I repeated this multiple times.

Any suggestions as to how to FORCE a full COPY of ONEDRIVE cryptomator folder, TO a local android CRYPTOMATOR folder, is appreciate3d.

I CAN hook up the desktop to force the copy, but that is a pai, because sometimes i do not have access to it, to do an update.

I use cryptomator to hold copies of wallet contents, keepass files, etc, for travel and security

any help appreciatd, thanks

Hi, @ACritterBlazesSnow

There is an app in the Google Play app store that I will put a link to here.
You can set it to synchronize files in this case your vault from the OneDrive account to your local Android file system. You can have it do this on the schedule or you can manually activate it.

It should solve your problem.

You should be able to access the vault locally and in the cloud just be careful because they’re not going to be identical if you get careless about synchronizing back and forth properly.

thanks for reply.
i will look at this , but i do have a sync program that goes from my desktop to onedrive, and i keep the folder sync’ed, and i just need an EMERGENCY copy, on the android local. BUT i ned to be able to manually just COPY a folder from OneDrive, to the android, and know that it is intact, and that all the data got copied.

can FolderSync be run MANUALLY, not running in background, and do selectedfolders? I don’t want another background app on the phone

AND, even without sync’ing, i want to be a ble to copy something from onedrive, to android, on single-time basis, and know that it got fully copied.

any replies appreiated, thanks

YES. You do not need to run it automatically you can run it manually anytime you desire.

There is an option to set up a schedule but you don’t need to.

Also a yes you can do a one-way copy a two-way copy a synchronize in one way a synchronizing two ways it has every option that you could think of.
