Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone can help me with a backup issue I’m facing. I’ve been trying to backup files in an unlocked Cryptomator vault using CrashPlan and Arq Backup, but I’m running into some problems (running on Windows 11.)
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
I’m mounting the Cryptomator vault to a local directory using WinFsp (Local Drive), let’s say the directory is d:\sensitive_files\
I unlock the vault, and the files appear unencrypted in File Explorer. I can go into d:\sensitive_files\ an all files and sub-folders appear and work as expected.
However, neither CrashPlan nor Arq Backup seem to recognize these files for backup. When I check the directory in CrashPlan or Arq Backup, it shows zero files for backup, i.e. both backup programs that there are zero files in directory d:\sensitive_files, even though this mount point holds all the unencrypted files. The vault is unlocked at this point.
Does anyone have any experience with this or know how I can get CrashPlan or Arq Backup to recognize and backup the unencrypted files in the mount point directory?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
