when I add existing vault (created on mobile app) to the desktop app it automatically creates plain text files:
masterkey.cryptomator.D1FB8CD9.bkup
vault.cryptomator.478F5S61.bkup
what is this files for? Is it to recovery access to the vault? Why it’s plain text?
Hi.
Yes, those are backups of the files which are created every time you unlock your vault.
These files are essential to unlock your vault (together with your password). The masterkey file is encrypted, not plain text.
