I am using OS X 10.11.6. Word and Excel report that they aren’t allowed to write or that there is no disk space left. Any idea or work around? And most important: Would an update to macOS and MS Office solve my problem?
I have the same issue in Mojave. I can only write to e.g. the Desktop and copy the file manually. Opening and reading files works.
I have updated to 10.14.1 now because of some other issues. No difference here either. So I guess, the time has come to dump Office 2011.
Now I have updated Office as well. That did it.
