Is the order of the c9r files important?

Recently, I accidentally formatted my hard drive and tried to recover it with a recovery program like Recuva. But I’m guessing it will be restored with a mix of encrypted files from Cryptomator, is that okay?

Hi.
No. The encrypted files have to be exactly in the folder where cryptomator have stored them. Means the structure of the encrypted vault files must not be changed. Otherwise the unencrypted files cannot be found in the vault anymore.

Then I’ll have to give up the c9r file
Thank You

Just an addition to @Michael answer: The order of the files is not important (e.g. ordered by date or ordered by name). Important is the location/path of a file and its name. Neither of the two should be changed manually/external app.
