Is the Cryptomator vault one physical file?

I currently use veracrypt where I can easily backup the vault by copying just one file. Is Cryptomator the same or will I have to individually copy all the contents of the vault when making a second local backup copy of the vault? I hope this is clear.

Desktop app on windows 11.

Cryptomator is file based, so you don’t have to upload the entire vault just because you changed/added/deleted a single file.

Im talking about a full local backup, nothing to do with the cloud. Is the cryptomator vault one single physical file that can be copied?

As I said: no. A Cryptomator vault is always a buch of files because the encryption of the files in the vault is filebased. It does not matter if the vault is stored online or local. And the reason why Cryptomator vaults are designed like that is that Cryptomator was designed for working with online storages. That’s why I mentioned it. Of course you can use it local only as well.
