Even though I’m copying (a lot of) data onto a vault located on my SD card: Cryotpmater filled up my hard disk as it was copying the data. Why is that, and how do I stop Cryotpmater from eating up my hard disk?

It probably has something to do with your setup, because Cryptomator will only encrypt incoming data and copy it to the vault’s location.
Can you share more details about how you’ve setup Cryptomator to work with the SD card. Screenshots are helpful.
The vault is on the SD card. What more would there be to setting up Cryptomator to work with the SD card?
