Firefox connects to Cryptomator vault?

Win10 Pro (x64)
Cryptomator 1.12.4 (msi-5223)
Firefox 124.0.1 (64-bit)

Monitoring my firewall traffic and I see that when I launch Firefox a TCP connection is made to localhost with random ports. For instance I just launched FF and the connection info is as follows:

Local - 127.0.0.1:19368
Remote - 127.0.0.1:19367
Remote name - cryptomator-vault
Reverse DNS - cryptomator-vault

This only happens with FF; not Chrome or Edge (haven’t tested others).

Is this expected behavior, and if so what is the purpose?

Thanks.

Welcome to the Cryptomator Community :slightly_smiling_face:,

on Windows, Cryptomator adds an alias to the localhost IP address 127.0.0.1 during installation.

This is the reason, why as a remote name “cryptomator-vault” is displayed. I cannot answer, why your Firefox tries to connect to your localhost address.
