[Feature Request] access vaults without providers app

The mobile Apps allow accessing vaults stored at cloud storage providers (Dropbox, Box, pCloud et cetera) directly through the Cryptomator App, whereas on the desktop we need the cloud storage providers apps installed.

Is it possible to integrate accessing the cloud storage directly through Cryptomator so we don’t need to install the apps first?

Hi @sprain

I doubt this will happen. It would be a lot of work for the developers.

Plus, there are other options than the provider apps. There are dedicated apps just for mounting lots of cloud drives.

This is a free app for Windows for mounting cloud drives.

Rclone is another app that can mount over 50 cloud drives on Windows, Mac, and Linux. I use this for a few different cloud providers like Microsoft, Google, Proton, Pcloud, etc…

So, all you need is one app, assuming that your cloud drives are covered.
I auto mount my drives by turning rclone into a service using NSSM software.

Yes, @Michael

I forgot to mention cyberduck.

It cost a few dollars but it’s easy to use making it an advantage if you’re on Windows.

cyberduck is free. I assume you meant mountainduck, which is not free. And its not only for windows. It supports Mac as well

Yes, you are correct. There are two products from that company. One is a file explorer type app which is cyberduck and it’s free.

Mountainduck has the advantage of being able to mount drives which is why they charge money for it.

It didn’t occur to me to correct myself after reading the thread that you posted that frequently mentioned cyberduck.

Partly because it is very early morning for me. I had been up and working most of the night when I wrote that that makes it about 5:30 in the morning.

Don’t worry about it
