Hello. cryptomator and veracrypt appear to be the undisputed leaders in this space. Is there a chance that cryptomator will developed toward local use in addition to cloud use?
None of the Cryptomator applications (Desktop or Mobile) require your vault to be stored in a cloud. But if your vault is local only, VeraCrypt might be the better choice.
