Cryptomator 1.6.0 (Windows 10, 64-bit) Start Menu path and upgrade

Hi, When I tried installing Cryptomator 1.6.0, it wasn’t possible to do an in-place upgrade using the MSI. I had to uninstall the version previously installed, reboot, then install the new version. And it seems it forgot my supporter certificate code and previously mounted volumes, so that’s a bit annoying.

Also, when installing the new version, it creates a start menu shortcut under \Unknown\Cryptomator.

Thank you for the Feedback!

The blocked in-place upgrade is intended. A reboot should not be required, and also your application settings should not be deleted. A quick test run on my machine showed no change, maybe the reboot was in your case even harmful.

We’ll release soon a new windows installer, which fixes the start menu category problem.

That’s what I figured since the installer format changed with 1.6.0.

I tried installing the MSI after uninstalling the previous version but it would only show up that the installer was initializing but nothing would happen after that, and the program didn’t seem to be installed anywhere which is what led me to do a reboot.
