Hi All,
I updated cryptomator from version 1.16.x to 1.17.0 = successfully executed.
After that Revail Drive → Not possible.
Data is unlocked but not possible to assign origional or new Drive Pointer.
Solution:
- Lock Cryptomator
- Remove vault from Cryptomator list
- Add Existing Vault again = vault.cryptomator
- Show Vault options, Mounting → Use assigned drive letter → e.g. L:
- Unlock data → Unlock successful → Remember my choice, don’t ask again → Click Revail Drive
Tadaaaa Data unencrypted available again.
Thanks Cryptomator for encrypting my data since 2019
Had the same problem. When tring to reveal the unlocked drive, Explorer shows ‘Folder moved or deleted’. Drive does not show in Explorer.
Your steps as well as trying every combination of drvie type and letter didn’t help.
I suspect the upgraded WinFSP driver.
Anybody any suggestions on how to access my data?
Edit: Downgrade to 1.6 solved the problem.
Installed WinFsp = WinFsp 2025 version 2.1.25156
I use Windows 11 Professional version 24H2 OS Build 26100.4351
Thanks, that helped!
Installed WinFsp 2025 version 2.1.25156 before upgrading to Cryptomator 1.17.0. Problem solved.
Problem was most likely caused by an incompatibility of WinFSP and Bitdefender which is fixed in the latest version:
- [FIX] Fixes a compatibility problem with certain AntiVirus products (e.g. Trend Micro).
Hello.
I just installed Cryptomator for the first time today and I had the same problem I think.
I was trying to create a vault on my USB stick. It would create the vault just fine and unlock it too. But when I tried to open it, it would give me an error, telling me that it could not find the drive and asked me to connect it. (It was connected.)
In the end I had to remove the vault from the USB drive and after a reboot try again.
That seemed to work, but Im not very confident here that it will work from now on.
