Cryptomator 1.16.0 (WinFSP) in Windows 11 (24H2) presents as network location, which presents all kinds of problems for usage and straight out doesn’t work for some applications like FreeFileSync that don’t recognize it as a valid destination. Is this a bug, or new behavior? It didn’t present like this before unless WebDAV was chosen.

Neither a bug, nor new. In version 1.7.0 the default volume type was changed to show as a network volume to improve performance (because filesystem requests in Windows explorer are significantly reduced).
You can change either the default volume type in the preferences to Winfsp (Local Drive) or only for a specific vault in the vault options. See also Volume Types — Cryptomator Documentation
Thank you. WinFSP (local drive) is the solution I was looking for. The thing is, it was always set to that and, for some reason, the version 1.16.0 switched it to WinFSP when updated and broke many things for me.
