Cannot create a vault

Thanks to this LeoW! I’ll check it up later.

@mewgim We received your log file.

I opened a bug ticket on our issue tracker about this problem:

Its resolution is planned for the next minor release of Cryptomator (version 1.12.0), but there is no ETA yet. The only workaround is creating the vault on a different device and then moving it to your desired location (e.g. with a thumb drive).

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try making in an another device but so far this is the laptop unit I got as of the moment. Maybe i’ll just wait for the new update for just in case I got to use some old pc to make a vault.

Have you tried creating a brand new Windows user account?

If you haven’t tried this yet create a brand new account that has a local account rather than a Microsoft account and see if you can create a vault that way. This way you won’t need a different computer to create the vault that you need you’ll just need to copy it from one user account to the other.

For example I log into Windows using a Microsoft account, but I also have a local account I can log in as. I could create a new vault as user Joe and then copy that vault to user Leo and try and open it.

That might work for you in the interim.

Hi thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try this one soon as I get back to my home.

Hi so far I tried this one but used a new laptop then transferred to my personal laptop. It works so far. encrypting items using cryptomator. Hoping to have my problem fixed from a new update, but for now i’ll be using this.

Sounds good.

Glad you found a solution that works for you.

Thanks for everyone for the replies and support regarding my problem! Cheers mate!

Short remark: Cryptomator 1.12.3 contains a fix for the issue :tada:
