I’ve installed the Beta this morning and so far it seems to work fine with the setting disabled. I’ve not had any dead biometric dialogs yet and the unlock isn’t that much slower.

I have Xiaomi Mi A3 (Android 10) and I also suffered from this issue. Thank you for implementing this option, it solved the problem for me.
