I would like to back up the decrypted files on a local drive in case the encrypted vault becomes corrupt. I have found that Winzip apparently can do this, but I would like an alternate application that can automatically do weekly local archive of the decrypted data.
For a backup to an external drive I would choose a common backup Software (I use this) and maybe encrypt the external drive with a static (full) encrypted hard drive. Like veracrypt offers that.
