Android version not finding dropbox vault

I created a vault on Windows 10 in the root of the Dropbox folder. Dropbox on Windows says it is all synced, but I don’t see anything on Android Dropbox. I purchased the Crytomator app on Android and it connects to the Dropbox app just fine, but it does not find my vault. I do have a file on the dropbox root that has synced to both devices - the file is “Encrypted - Shortcut.ink” on the Android dropbox. My vault folder is named “Encrypted”.

Hi,

I have found that trying to use this software with different synchronization programs can cause difficulty.

I don’t normally use the Dropbox software program for Windows but for you I will give it a try and see if I can duplicate your problem.

On Windows I normally mount my Dropbox with a different app and don’t synchronize it but access it directly.

I should know by tomorrow if I can get it to work or duplicate your error.

Hey and welcome to the Cryptomator Community :slightly_smiling_face:,

Cryptomator for Android provides a live view of the contents of your Dropbox folder. Encrypted - Shortcut.ink sounds to me that you have this folder somewhere else stored in Dropbox and this is just a link to it. Is the vault located in Computer or something in your Dropbox?

If you want a refund, just send me a direct message with your order id or send it to support@cryptomator.org

Julian,

Thank you for your help. I figured it out. I have the dropbox folders on an external drive that is a sim card mounted as drive D: . For some reason, there is a dropbox folder still on the C: drive and the only folders in it are the Cryptomator vaults. I moved those to my active Dropbox folder on the D: drive (which is mounted as “Dropbox Evernote”. All works well now. I can find the vault on Android Dropbox. Your comments prompted me to look at the Cryptomator home screen and on it, the location of the Vault is shown. It showed that it was on the C: drive in an unused dropbox folder.

Thank you again,
Scott
