I wanted to put my files in the cloud but not unencrypted. I did my research and found Cryptomator, which looked nice. Downloaded the iOS app and was ready to pay before I figured out there was a 30 days free test. I used this, fortunately.
I created a local vault on my iPad and put files into it. Just basic pdf, folders and subfolder. About 150 files and 40 Mo. About 10% of my files are simply inaccessible. When I want to open a folder, an error appears.
I tried with other files, other folders, other vaults. Every time the same thing.
Glad I did tests and didn’t put my files without hesitation.
I know Files app on iOS / iPadOS is pure trash, but wow, I wasn’t expecting such a mess.
Don’t know if its Files app fault, Cryptomator fault, or my fault, maybe I’m doing something wrong (even if I’m litteraly just copying 40 Mo of files).
Am I the only one with this problem ? Any solution ?
I confess I don’t trust Cryptomator anymore…
I am using the iOS app frequently every day with several vaults on different locations and do not face problems.
What does the error message say?
If you’re getting errors, it would be great to post the error from the log file (accessible via settings).
So, here are the error messages I have.
When I upload a Folder, some subfolder have a « waiting » information. No matter how much I wait, it doesn’t disappear.
If I try to open this folder, a error message is on screen.
Basically, it says « unable to display folder content because of unknow error ».
And if I try to delete these folders, this error message pops up. Which means « impossible to finish the operation, impossible to communicate with the help application ».
Important note : If I upload alone a subfolder that didn’t work as a subfolder, It work bit his subfolders may not.
