Hello,
I have a phone I have dedicated to offline use for photography. I would like to encrypt my images (and audio), and have installed CryptoMator. When I open Cryptomator, I am asked for a license, and there are two direct ways to proceed: enter by keyboard, or go to the website. The latter is contrary to policy, and when I attempted to buy a key, I was presented with a hundreds of characters long thing I wouldn’t try to enter. I considered whether I could “paste” something, but in Androd the technique is to hold your finger on the text box and wait for a “paste” button. In this case, it does not appear. I am feeling lost, if someone would like to help.
Hey and welcome to the Cryptomtator Community ,
Please try again: first, copy the licence key, then long-click and paste it into this field. It should work in the same way as in any other app.
Hi,
Here is another suggestion that may help. Take the license text that you received over the web on your PC and put it in a text file on a flash drive that has the type of connector that you have on the bottom of your phone. Hopefully it is USB-C?
Open the text file using a file manager on your phone and use the Android app to select all text.
Do you have the option to install the RS file manager on your Android phone? If you open the text file with that file manager it has a text editor and in there you can select one word and then on the menu it will have an option to select all and then copy and you will have everything you need in the clipboard so you can paste it into Cryptomator.
If you want to keep the phone offline you can get rs file manager apk from apkmirror and then put it on your phone.
Unfortunately, the Android file manager called files doesn’t have a way to edit text files.
