Hi,
I have two google accounts setup with Cryptomator on my computer using google drive. Now I want to access both of them from my android phone. It looks like it allowed only one google drive account to add the vault. Is it by design or I am doing something wrong? If I try to add an existing vault opinion it goes to the existing google drive vault, which does not give me an option to add a new google drive account.
Hey and welcome to the Cryptomator Community ,
This is not yet supported with Google Drive in Cryptomator for Android. It will change in the future as we see the need for multiple accounts for Google Drive as wellā¦it will be possible someday.
Hi there, and do you have an eta about that āsomedayā ?
Iāve just purchased the Android version, and Iād really need to be able to access three vaults on three different google accounts at the same time.
Iām sure there should be many more users with a similar requirementā¦
Thanks.
Hi,
I may have a solution for you.
Iāll need till tomorrow to finish testing but I am fairly confident I have the system that will let you access vaults on as many Google Drives as you wish.
I have two set up right now that Iām testing with.
Hi there,
thatās great to hear !
Many thanks.
UPDATE:
Sorry for having been delayed all this time I will need another couple of days to post my instructions I am putting together some written instructions and also a couple of small videos to make it easier.
Briefly, there is another Android program available on GitHub called RSAF.
This program will be the document provider that will feed to cryptomator the files in the vault. You will tell cryptomator that the vault is stored locally and then point it at the remote created by RSAF.
I want to make this as easy as possible for anyone to use which is why Iām putting together a combination of a short video in combination with instructions because it is sometimes very difficult to describe in writing how to link to Android applications together to make them work together.
If you would like to make some progress today and get started you can begin by installing RSAF the proper version for your mobile processor on your phone.
You can then hopefully just follow the menu to create one or three or more remotes to your different Google Drives. Once the remote is created you should be able to see all the files on your different Google Drives and be able to copy files back and forth between your phone and the cloud. This is a prerequisite to making it work with Cryptomator.
There is one particular file manager in the Google Play app store that you will want to load because itās the only one that Iām aware of that recognizes programs like RSAF as document providers. Here is the link.
In RSAF you will want to make sure that the option to āPretend to be local storageā is enabled.
